When your mind won't switch off
Anxiety isn't always the racing, obvious kind.
Sometimes it's a low hum of worry you've carried so long it feels normal.
Sometimes it's physical before it's anything else - tight chest, disturbed sleep, a body that's braced for something, even when nothing's wrong right now.
I offer anxiety counselling in Exeter, Exmouth and online, working with both what's driving your anxiety and developing practical ways to help you manage it day to day.
- Overthinking, worst-case-scenario thinking, or trouble switching your mind off
- Physical symptoms like tension, poor sleep, restlessness, that don't have an obvious cause
- Avoiding things like conversations, decisions and situations because the anxiety around them feels too big
- Feeling anxious "for no reason," or unable to pin down what's actually wrong
- Anxiety that's started affecting work, relationships, or how much you're able to enjoy your life
You might recognise...
What we actually do about it...
We'll look at what's driving your anxiety, not just the symptoms on the surface but the situations, beliefs, or patterns that keep it switched on, even when there's no obvious "reason" in the moment.
Alongside that, I'll help you build practical tools you can use day-to-day - ways to steady yourself when anxiety spikes and ways to loosen its grip over time. This means that you' won't just be talking about your anxiety in our sessions but building a different relationship with it in your actual life.
